2 All School Lunches Come with a Choice of: Lean Protein (ex. chicken, hamburger, low fat cheese) Whole Grains (ex. breads, rice, pasta) Hot & Cold Vegetable (Mac’s Veggie Patch) Fruit 100% Juice (Students may take 1 Juice) Low Fat Milk

3 Federal Guidelines A Complete Meal: Includes at least 3 items One must be a: Fruit Fruit Juice or Vegetable

4 Complete Meals Grain + Protein + Fruit + Vegetable + Low Fat Milk

5 Complete Meals Protein + Vegetable + Milk

6 Complete Meals Grain + Protein + Vegetable + Low Fat Milk

7 Complete Meals Grain + Protein + Fruit

8 Complete Meals Grain + Protein + Fruit Juice

9 Complete Meals Grain + Protein + Vegetable

10 Complete Meals Grain + Protein + Fruit Juice

11 Incomplete Meals Meals that are incomplete will be charged a la carte and may be more expensive according to state pricing guidelines Entrées served with water or milk only (no fruit or vegetable) are incomplete Encourage students to take all components for the best deal!

12 Incomplete Meals Grain + Protein + Water No Fruit, Fruit Juice or Vegetable According to federal regulations water is not an acceptable substitution for milk

13 Incomplete Meals No Fruit, Fruit Juice or Vegetable Grain + Protein + Milk

14 Incomplete Meals No Fruit, Fruit Juice or Vegetable Only 2 Components Grain + Milk

15 Incomplete Meals Only 2 Components Breading on chicken is not enough to count as grain serving Protein + Vegetable + Water

16 Incomplete Meals Grain + Protein + Water No Fruit, Fruit Juice or Vegetable Lettuce & tomato on Hamburger is not enough to count as a vegetable serving
