2 Each month over 90% of children in the US eat at McDonald’s Americans alone spent roughly $54 billion dollars on soft drinks in 1997. Did you know… 1 in 4 Americans will eat fast food… Daily! In America, french-fries are the most commonly consumed vegetable. In America, more than 1,000,000 animals an hour are eaten. The year 2004 Americans ate 7.5 pounds of frozen french-fries. On average, McDonald’s serve 46 million customers a day. Teenagers drink over 64 gallons of soft drinks, yearly. America is the fattest country in the world. Over the course of 35 years in the US, the fast-food industry has grown by almost 1000% 50% of an average American yearly food budget is spent on fast food chains.

3 Consequences Between 1985 to 2000, 57000 deaths in Canada were affiliated with overweight and obesity. In America, falling right behind smoking, obesity is the number one causes of death. According to The World Health Organization, obesity a global epidemic Diabetics lives will be cut 17-27 years short. 60% of Americans have been diagnosed with obesity. Obesity has been linked to: Hypertension, Coronary Heart Disease, Adult Onset Diabetes, Stroke, Gall Bladder Disease, Osteoarthritis, Sleep Apnea, Respiratory Problems, Endometrial, Breast, Prostate and Colon Cancers, Dyslipidemia, steatohepatitis, insulin resistance, breathlessness, Asthma, Hyperuricaemia, reproductive hormone abnormalities, polycystic ovarian syndrome, impaired fertility and lower back pain.
