3 What is the Peer-Review process?  Purpose: unbiased evaluation of the quality of research and paper  Author submits manuscript to journal editor  Editor sends ‘blind copy’ to three expert reviewers (peer-reviewers)  Reviewers comment on and evaluate manuscript accept, accept with revisions, reject accept, accept with revisions, reject  Editor returns manuscript with comments and evaluation (without reviewer’s names) to author.
