"Sustainable energy supply to remote hard-to reach villages with using of integrated wind-solar power facilities with installed capacity of up to 30kW (on the example village "Muzbulak" of the Jizzakh region)

Project Description: RRV "Muzbulak" is located in a remote area Bahmal District. In the RRV is no gas supply from the gas distribution network. For heating it is used coal imported at considerable cost of its transportation charges; casings, firewood. As a result of the combustion of solid fuels in homes it is polluted the environment with harmful emissions. We will see hours of frequent interruptions of power supply especially in the autumn and winter periods. In this regard, to provide the necessary living conditions of inhabitants RRV; effective operation of schools; rural health units; service industries; development and operation of enterprises of private enterprise, farmers it is needed modernization of the electricity RRV "Muzbulak" using technologies and means of wind and solar energy.

The purpose of the project: Development, start-up in action integrated wind-solar power complex on the basis of wind electroinstallations (WEI) up to 30 kW with the conversion of wind energy of the surface (20-40m) layers of the atmosphere into electricity, solar photovoltaic plants of new generation. Providing of sustainable electricity and heat supply of the objects of the social sector: Rural medical points (RMP), schools, small business sites, etc. in the ungasified remote rural village (RRV) "Muzbulak." Providing effective health services to the population by increasing the duration of the work of the therapeutic medical devices, computer and other office equipment.

Objectives of the project: Development of an integrated process scheme of wind-solar power complex with a justification and rational choice of type and rating capacity of power generating sources, based on an instrumental study of wind conditions and other climatic factors in the external environment in the area "Muzbulak", study of electricity, heat consumption of different objects in the RRV "Muzbulak". Numerical modeling of the energy characteristics of the wind turbines, solar photovoltaic plants in the conditions of the "Muzbulak." Development, coordination of technical and economic supporting materials and design documentation for the creation of integrated wind-solar power complex. Development of the system of management, control and protection of the integrated wind-solar power sector.

The effectiveness of the project: Development of clean technology of producing of electric and thermal energy using a combination of wind and solar energy. Sustainable electricity and heat supply of objects of the social sector in a remote rural ingasified village "Muzbulak", Bahmal District, Jizzakh region, where there is a shortage of electricity, fuel and heat. Improving the living conditions of the population, the promotion of sustainable health care of RRV with a population of over 4,000 people; effective use of therapeutic medical equipment and the expansion of medical services; effective use of computer tools in rural medical point, school; creation of conditions for the development of agriculture production and the formation of new jobs in the RRV.

Cost of the project: 350.0 thousand dollars The proposed plan of financing: Means on a grant basis in the amount of 350.0 thousand dollars Project duration: 36 months after the start of the project financing. The executors of the project: - Institute of Energy and Automation, Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan, 100000, Tashkent.
