5 Funding Formula Same formula and funding rates as 13/14, except o Mobility only funded above 10% o MFG is -1.5% but cap is +0.5% o AWPU – increased by £23 per pupil for 14/15 only School data derived from October 2013 census, processed by the DfE and fed back to local authorities o Barnet cannot change the data

6 High Needs Top-Ups Statements in mainstream, additional resourced provision and special schools Top-up rates unchanged Only Barnet pupils funded Schools collect top-ups for non Barnet children directly from home authority System for checking high needs pupils on roll reinstated Termly adjustments for joiners, leavers and changes in statements

7 Early Years Same system as 13/14 Additional 2p per hour for 2014/15 only Termly adjustments after each census 2014/15 initial estimates are based on 13/14 attendance

Higher funding rates o FSM : Primary £1300; Secondary £935 – data from January 14 census o Service: £300 – data from January 14 census o Adopted from care: £1900 – data from January 14 census o LAC - £1900 – data from Virtual School Check the Key to Success website for names of eligible children (except LAC).

9 Universal Free School Meals for Infant children Starts September 2014 for Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 Capital funding for adaptations – no announcements for individual schools Revenue funding announced at £2.30 per meal but no guidance on exactly how this will be provided Continue to register eligible children even after new system comes in to protect FSM

10 Looking forward to 2015/16 After the local elections Government consultation on National School funding system o likely to be either a single formula for schools o or a single formula for local authorities o please respond when it comes out Review of SEN top-up funding o Summer term 2014 led by Penny Richardson
