11 OUT OF SEASON CONDITIONING Each program has identified strength, speed, agility, conditioning, sport specific program. What is “out of season program”? Let’s identify its purpose. (endurance, injury prevention, mental toughness, etc.) Plyo program Conflicts of corresponding activities and proper protocol. Break out tonight – talk to coach about out of season expectations Must understand the “NEXT” step in athletic participation and the added responsibilities. Competition opportunities Be aware of “Team Camps”.

12 REQUIRED FORMS PHYSICALS –Must be completed on IHSAA physical form before athlete can practice (4 pages) –Must be done after April 1 st to apply for following year –Physicals will be given at LHS May 26 th. Appointments are scheduled online – http://www.tricreek.k12.in.us/lhs/ –Physicals must be signed by athlete and parent in two separate places. Doctor signature ONLY! –Physicals and “all” required paperwork - returned to the athletic office…NOT the coach

16 Athletic Handbook Agreement –Emergency Assistance –Understanding Guidelines, Policies, and Rules Emergency Medical Information – submit online Insurance Waiver Student/Parent Certificate and Consent Civility Clause Guidelines of Social Networking Pesticide Waiver Drug testing policy

17 Athletic Fee A fee per athlete per season cost is used to cover athletic expenses, (Booster Club/Corporate sponsor assistance has reduced this fee) through D4D program. Cost of driver and $1.50 per mile, supervision, and athletic trainer, and supplies are deferred through this fee. Athletes must ride the school corporation transportation to and from athletic events. Travel release document (timeline). Fees can be made by credit card at preseason meeting

18 Athletic Department Costs Expenses - Officials, uniforms, warm ups, balls, transportation, security, contest workers, awards, special recognition programs, medical supplies, safety equipment, training equipment, variety of sports specific equipment, facility improvements Incomes - Booster Club,D4D, gate receipts, fundraisers, donations, fees.

24 The Realities of an Athletic Scholarship Total number of NCAA schools Division I 306 maximum scholarships allowed over a four year period per school 306 scholarships per year x 447 Division I colleges = 137,026 (maximum possible scholarships offered to high school students per year) Division II 254 maximum scholarships allowed over a four year period per school 254 scholarships per year x 343 division II colleges = 87,325 (maximum possible scholarships offered to high school students 224,352) Total number of high school athletic participants 6,195,247 224,352/6,195,247 =.036 An athlete’s chance of earning a college athletic scholarship would be 3.8 out of 100 high school athletes in every college and university in Division 1 and 2 if issued the maximum number of scholarships in every sport for men and women.

Parents and children high school age and under) ONLY. - Adult $75 prior to 8/21/2015 then $90 - Student $60 prior to 8/21/2015 then $75 Senior Citizen Pass (Free to TCSC residents 65 and older.
