2 Study Committee A3 HIGH VOLTAGE EQUIPMENT Working Group Activity ReportPage No.: 2 Activities & discussion items Five meeting until date: September 2011 in Vienna, March 2012 in Baden, August 2012 in Paris,March 2013 in Rio, September 2013 in Johannesburg. Work divided in 6 different topics: 1. Stressing parameters: - Environmental, Electrical, Dielectric, Mechanical, Prioritization of stressing parameters 2. Equipment capabilities - Standards, Test protocols, Specification, Influence of aging (WG A3.29) 3. Review of utilities processes to assess potential overstresses risk 4. Measures for risk mitigation: - What utilities do (or should do) to mitigate equipment´s overstress risks? 5. Proposal for improvements on the overstress management process: - gap analysis of utilities overstress management X main stressing parameters & available information on equipment capabilities -proposals for improvement & recommended processes - suggestions for standards improvements 6. Brochure annexes: - overstress checking procedures for selected equipment and stress parameters. March 2014

3 Study Committee A3 HIGH VOLTAGE EQUIPMENT Working Group Activity ReportMarch 2014Page No.: 3 Activities & discussion items State of the work: Item 1 (Stressing parameters) already concluded; Item 2 (Equipment capabilities):  standards analysis to be finalized next meeting;  test protocols and specification analysis to be prepared for sept./2014;  Aging influence: waiting for WG A3.29 results; Item 3 (Review of utilities processes):  Experiences so far collected: ONS, AXPO, EDF, LIANDER, BPA, VLPGO (NG, TERNA, REE, ONS & RTE)  first draft foreseen for sept./2014; Item 4 (Measures for Risk Mitigation):  Experiences so far collected: ONS, AXPO, EDF, LIANDER, BPA, VLPGO (NG, TERNA, REE, ONS & RTE)  first draft foreseen for sept./2014; Item 5 (Proposal for improvements): last task, conclusion foreseen for May 2015 Item 6 (Annexes): already started for CB and CT, conclusion foreseen for March 2015
