1 May 12, 2004 TJR1 Effects of Upstream ParticleID Counters on MICE Good-Mu+ Rates Tom Roberts Illinois Institute of Technology May 12, 2004

2 May 12, 2004 TJR2 Downstream Position has TOF0 just downstream of Q6, and TOF1 just downstream of Q9, with an iron shield between it and the Tracker1 Solenoids, as for TOF2. MAR04

3 May 12, 2004 TJR3 Multiple Scattering from 2 inch Scintillator Q7 aperture seen from TOF0: ±0.039

5 May 12, 2004 TJR5 Conditions of this Study The following are configured as in the TRD (March 28): –The beamline (MAR04 design) –Upstream PiD counters (except as noted) –Downstream PiD counters (including iron shield) These have older configurations: –Magnetic cooling channel, absorbers, and RF are as in the MICE proposal –No vacuum windows; experimental hall is filled with vacuum –Tracker1 and Tracker2 are modeled as virtualdetector-s, vacuum –Absorbers have the bellows windows, both LH 2 and safety Absorbers are empty, RF is off A fixed set of 1M target pi+ is used for every run
