2 His father was Zeus, which angered his wife Hera. Hera attempted to kill him with snakes, but he strangled them both. He was just a baby.

3 Hera, since she hated Heracles, drove him mad. He killed his own family. In order to make up for his sins, he went to work for his cousin, King Eurystheus.

4 The Lion had supernatural parents, and could not be killed by weapons Heracles killed him in hand to hand combat, by strangulation Heracles wears the lion skin as a cloak

5 The Hydra was a fierce, many-headed monster. 2 heads grew back for every 1 chopped off Heracles cauterized each wound to prevent head re-growth

6 Sacred to Artemis, the virgin goddess of the moon and hunting Hercules chased it for a whole year. Pinned it down, didn’t kill it

7 Had to bring it back alive Forced into a snow bank Carried it back on his shoulder A Centaur was accidentally killed

8 Had to do it in one day Vast herds of animals Diverted a river to wash the stables clean
