20. The Writing Proficiency Requirement Students must register for and pass the Writing Proficiency Exam (WPE/Univ 400) before reaching 135 units or they will not be allowed to register for additional units. Student must have taken and passed English 102 or its equivalent before taking the WPE. Students who fail the exam the first time must wait to retake the exam the following quarter. Students who fail a second time must take and pass University 401, a ten week course the following quarter.

22. Diversity Requirement All students who have a Fall 1998 or later G.E. catalog date must complete the G.E. Diversity Requirement Students may take any 2 courses certified as diversity (d) in the Lower Division G.E. and/or Upper Division Theme Look for (d) courses in Blocks C, D, E and also in the Upper Division Themes
