Thayer – “reverence towards God, godly fear, piety; to act cautiously, circumspectly; to reverence, to stand in awe” (p. 259).

4. Reverence Commanded “You shall keep My Sabbaths and reverence My sanctuary: I am the LORD” (Lev. 19:30). “God is greatly to be feared in the assembly of the saints, and to be held in reverence by all those around Him” (Psalm 89:7). “Happy is the man who is always reverent, but he who hardens his heart will fall into calamity” (Proverbs 28:14).
