8 Legal obligations 1. In general, prior to giving the lecture or during the first session mention the source of the lecture (or its parts) 2. First slide of the topic: “parts of this topic …” 3. If just some slides are used, then acknowledgement on every slide (footer). 4. Report usage information to the project. 5. Provide review reports to the project. 6. Place only PDF files on local websites for students’ access (with password protection). 7. Sign the copyright forms.

12 Contributions/feedback Basic contributions review reports, discussion (suggest new topics, methodology,…). Advanced contributions usage reports, supply additional material, Add new case studies, Add new assignments.

13 Why do we need a copyright policy? Immense human capital to produce the course materials There is a global market for distance- learning course materials Protect ourselves against piracy

14 When we shall hand-over produced materials? There is a serious interest in introducing a SE course based on this material or / and There is a serious interest in including larger parts of this course in other courses related to SE or / and There is a serious interest to take part in an international scientific multi-lingual distance- education project and It must be assured that the course material will be password-protected on local servers. PDF-versions can be delivered to the students, however also password-protected.
