The National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) Clinical Research Network (CRN) Research Site Initiative (RSI) is a scheme to support the establishment and maintenance of infrastructure enabling primary care sites to contribute to the delivery of NIHR CRN Portfolio studies, supporting the High Level Objectives (HLOs) and priorities. 2

Background RSI Scheme was established in 2008 The RSI scheme was established to provide funding to support infrastructure within Primary Care settings to help them to become and remain research active sites, The Scheme was revised in 2012, building on successes and aiming to encourage greater consistency across the country. 3
