Salesforce for Outlook Installation and Instruction of Use Jan. 2015
Uninstall Old Version 1.Close out of Outlook 2.Click on Windows Button 3.Select Control Panel 4.Search Uninstall 5.Choose your Uninstall Program 6.Double Click Salesforce for Outlook 7.And follow instructions on uninstalling
Install New Version 1.In Salesforce click on your name in the upper right corner. 2.Select My Settings 3.On Left side page select Desktop Add-Ons 4.Select Salesforce for Outlook 5.Click Download (Version 2.6.1) 6.Follow Install instructions 7.Open Outlook – window should pop up to login with your Salesforce credentials. Login and save.
Troubleshooting Installation of Salesforce for Outlook If window does not pop up: Click Arrow on Taskbar Right click on Salesforce for Outlook Icon, Select Settings and Save If Side Panel does not load when you open Outlook: Click VIEW in Outlook and check to see if the Show/Hide is highlighted. If not click to highlight.
Adding Email to Salesforce using the Side Panel Click on the email you want to add If any of the contacts in the email are in Salesforce and match up with the Email address in Salesforce and Outlook – they will show up in the Side Panel. If they don’t show up email could be different than what is in Salesforce or contact does not have an email address in Salesforce. →You can go into Salesforce and add or correct email address and come back into Outlook and try to add it again or → You can Search for Contact, Account or Opportunity using the Search feature If you want to add to multiple contacts you can click on the name you want to add it to and Click the Envelope next to their Name or Opportunity. To add an email to the Contact Click the Envelope next to their contact name To Add an email to a Opportunity, click the Triangle to show available opportunities and click the Envelope next to the desired Opportunity.
