7 What are you aiming to do?
For the task: The team has to find the rule on the Ruler's card, using the minimum number of tests. A test is asking whether a particular house obeys the rule. As a team: finding out what others think giving reasons for ideas being concise reflecting on what has been said allowing everyone to contribute.

There are three times as many spots on one half as the other The product of the spots on each half is 12 The sum of all the spots is a square number The number of spots on one half is a multiple of the number of spots on the other

10 A planning toolkit has been created for each year group from Years 1 – 6, using the guidance from the NCETM (National Centre for Excellence in the Teaching of Mathematics). The toolkits give easy access to all the NCETM resources, using hyperlinks.

17 Each main strand heading has been hyperlinked back to the NCETM website, where all the resources can be found.

18 Objectives and Exemplification
The main objectives are in bold and underlined. The information underneath each objective refers to the linked exemplification, including questions and examples, to show what the children should be able to do. These are similar questions to those found in the current pitch and expectation documents and include references to ITPs and models and images.

19 Flexibility The toolkits are a long term plan for the year to be used as a working document, which will need annotation. Coverage of the different strands will require monitoring by teachers and maths subject leaders. Each half term/ term can be ticked or highlighted when objectives have been covered. The week number / date could be added under the half term heading to show coverage of the objectives. The ‘Notes’ section allows space for comments about children’s ability and AfL.
