4 Who does this statute affect in our profession? Audiologists who are providers of Medicare State health care programs may be impacted by analogous state law AKS Issues related: i.e manufacturers financial relationships with audiologists that are Medicare providers

7 What is the Stark Law? Federal Law Prohibits physician financial investment or related financial interest with an entity that he is referring patients to who are covered by Medicare, Medicaid and third party payer Exceptions must be reviewed carefully

8 Who does this law affect in our profession? Audiologists that receive Medicare, Medicaid and third party payer referrals and/or are family members of physicians Stark has limited applicability for audiologists
