4 The Creative Employability Studio Work - Placement Module 2008-2009 61 level 2 and level 3 Art and Design students undertook the Work Placement Module. Placements included schools and colleges, television production companies, graphic and product design studios, magazines and newspapers, museums and galleries, jewellery workshops, computer games designers and a baby wear manufacturer.

5 The Creative Employability Studio Work - Professional Placement (Sandwich) 2008-2009 3 students will commence the new year-long option in September 2009. Due to the current economic climate all three students have embarked on unpaid work placements, two of them having secured three 10 week placements to broaden their experience.

6 The Creative Employability Studio Work - Live Commissions Increased the number of live briefs facilitated within the school. Powercell Batteries - packaging brief Fountain Arcade - ceramic floor design Youth Café - interior design brief First Steps Baby Wear - character design for clothing

7 The Creative Employability Studio Work - SPEED WM 2008-2009 maintained the high level of Art and Design students successfully applying to the SPEED programme. 64 students interviewed for SPEED. Of the 33 successful students, 16 students were from Art and Design.

8 The Creative Employability Studio Work - Employment and Volunteering 2008-2009 employment opportunities advertised to students within the School. Small freelance opportunities brokered to students. Students encouraged to engage with volunteer opportunities.

9 The Creative Employability Studio Skills - Competitions & Exhibitions Opportunities for students to enter local and national competitions have been advertised centrally. Many of the live briefs have developed into competitions. Developing local contacts to increase opportunities for students to exhibit their work.

10 The Creative Employability Studio Skills - Sales of Work & Commercial Awareness Exploring opportunities for students work to be exhibited and sold within the region e.g. local retailers. Developing workshops with partners such as Graduate Advantage e.g. Interviewing Skills May 2009. Awareness workshops e.g. Getting into Teaching.

11 The Creative Employability Studio Industry - Sponsorship, Events & Communication To increase the School’s relationship with industry. To form a catalyst for dealing with all leads that come into the school.

12 The Creative Employability Studio Industry - Commercial Work Space Making students aware of opportunities in the region e.g. SPARK.

13 The Creative Employability Studio Practitioners - Honorary Practitioners Honorary Practitioners created by the School now established as a role within the University.

14 The Creative Employability Studio Practitioners - Alumni & Success Stories To maintain relationships with graduating students and build a portfolio of success stories to feed into marketing and other projects e.g. LLN website.
