Preliminary Design Review Group A3: HMS “Bloodhound” Matt Morris Matt Prygoski Jay Slaggert Fred Thwaites Dan Zibton Thursday, April 3, 2008

Previous Week’s Action Item # 1 -Machine and assemble the body of the vehicle - Used CNC mill to machine all body panels with the exception of the top panel (to be completed in next 24 hours) - Assembling body panels using brackets and machine screws to take place today. (Showstopper)

Previous Week’s Action Item # 2 -Development of code to control vehicle and subsystems (Week 1 of 2) -Base circuitry completed, permanent soldering in process -Pseudocode being translated to C++ and tested as it is developed.

Flow Chart

Movement / Search Algorithm d-1 80% of d-1 d-2 80% of d-2 20 ft acceptance radius d-3 100% of d-3, start search Search Algorithm

Current Status of Concept Casters Boom with Infrared Sensors (PVC) Motor Assembly Driven Wheels

Motor Setup

Current Status of Concept -CAD completed minus screws / L-brackets -Key Features: - Rear Driven Wheels/Front Casters - Boom with Infrared Sensors - HDPE body - GPS navigation system -Currently behind schedule - Recent push over the last 3 days has left us in range to catch up by next Tues./Thurs. -Showstoppers: - Coding Search Algorithm - Additional CNC and Assembly work

Next Week’s Action Items - Continue development of code/circuitry to control vehicle and subsystems (Week 2 of 2) -Continue translating pseudocode to C++, interfacing with the microcontroller and troubleshooting -Calibration of speed/turning of vehicle -Once assembled, tests to determine rate of turning in either turning mode (fwd/rev or fwd/off) and in at least one drive speed -Calibrate motors against each other to ensure straight motion using PWM signal -Documentation
