Mission Statement  Our goal is to build a balloon sat that will accomplish the following at an altitude of 100,000ft (30,480m):  Measure altitude  Measure temperature  Measure relative humidity  Measure wavelengths of visible, ultra violet, and infrared light  Take pictures of both the balloon and the ground

Super Experiment  Our two additional tests will be combined to form one super experiment.  This experiment will measure  Visible Wavelengths  Infrared Wavelengths  Ultra Violet Wavelengths  This will help us find the elevations at which the various forms of potentially harmful radiation is filtered out.

Requirements  Requirements remain the same:  Mass budget will not exceed 500 grams.  Financial budget will not exceed $200.00  Anything above that will be paid for by the students involved.  Internal temperature must remain above 0°C.  The ascent and descent rates will be recorded.  The BalloonSat must take a picture of both the Balloon and the Earth, while in flight.  In addition, the BalloonSat must carry two additional experiments designed by the students.

Requirements in Progress  Our mass budget is currently at: 539+ grams  Working on a mirror system to save mass.  Our Financial budget is currently at $30.00  We have not tested/completed our cold Test, drop test, or dry test.  HOBO recalibrated to be an altimeter  Two separate film cameras connected to separate timing circuits that will photograph both the balloon and the ground.  Super Experiment

Building Status  We are still under construction.  Foam-Core has been cut out, and edged  All circuits constructed  Cameras are properly wired  Waiting on our experimental sensors  The next step: Integration of all components and drop test.

Testing  Individual Circuit Testing: Complete  Drop Test: Incomplete  Cold Test: Incomplete  Sensor Test: Incomplete

Current Cost and Mass  Money Spent to date: $30.00  Budget Spent: ~$30/$200  Items Purchased:  Batteries  Film  Film development (later)  Anti-Freeze  Dry ice for cold test  Current Mass in grams (g)  HOBO: 35  9Volt Batteries: 45  Camera x2: 236  Timing Circuits x2: 58  Camera Batteries: 22  3 Batteries: 24  Switches x2: 6  Aluminum Tape: TBD  Heating Circuit: 15  Foam Core: 41  Film x2: 22  Total to date: 539

Agenda Leading to Launch  Obtain Sensors  Finish Construction/Integration of BalloonSat  Complete Cold Test  Complete Drop Test  Complete Dry Test of BalloonSat to make sure everything is working properly as a unit.
