Dr Mason’s lecture on Multiple Intelligences gave me great ideas on how to differentiate activities, so as to motivate and accommodate my students and hopefully raise their performance. I piloted this activity on my own as I am currently working alone in my private office, teaching EFL to Greek students with dyslexia. I talked on the phone with the School English teacher of the students I teach privately in my office, to give her an idea on how this activity motivated them and raised their written performance

Students were more engaged with the written activity They reported they felt respected and happy by giving them the chance to work on an activity tailored made to their intelligence Those who never wanted to write before, were now willing to try

4. 4Challenges Name two or three challenges you experienced with the pilot. What got in the way of your success? It was very difficult to differentiate ALL homework activities based on multiple intelligences as it required a lot of time… The School teacher I talked on the phone did not show real interest on cooperating with me in order to plan activities based on multiple intelligences. She mentioned that although it sounded interesting, it would be time consuming for her to assess students’ multiple intelligences and create activities on a daily bases

5. 5 Next Steps Name two or three next steps with this material. What will you try next? How will you build on your experiences with the institute? I plan to create a template with pre-planned ideas on how to differentiate activities based on Multiple Intelligences, so as to save time in modifying activities in the future I will share my work with the school teacher of my students, and maybe she will be more willing to try to differentiate activities in her classes too.
