Finishing Up Comm Arts II Mr. Wreford

Finishing Up  You have a clear position on your topic.  You are now ready to create a review draft.  Argue your position as clearly and persuasively as possible.  Subject your draft to a final review (yours and others).  Revisions: content, organization, style, format.

Finishing Up  Creating a Review Draft: Review the context analysis. Have you gained any new information? Can you still make the claim you want to make? Outline: main points and supporting arguments.

Finishing Up  Getting a Final Review: Give your reviewer a copy of your draft. Give your reviewer a copy of your context analysis. Ask: Are my arguments persuasive? Ask the reviewer to adopt the perspective of the target audience and use checklist.

Finishing Up  Revising Your Position Paper: Review the reviewers’ comments. Bearing in mind your intended audience and purpose, decide which comments are most valid. After resolving all of the issues, proofread carefully and correct any errors. Submit the final draft to your instructor.

Finishing Up  Taking Stock of Where You Are: What appears to be my greatest area of strength? Where am I having the greatest difficulty? What am I learning about the process of writing? What am I learning about giving and receiving feedback on writing? What have I learned from writing a position paper that I can use in my next assignment for this course, for another course, or for work?
