PRINCIPLES THAT SUPPORT USABILITY FLEXIBILITY Presented BY: KONATE MOHAMED LAMINE JOYCE NGANGA EDWINA ODIWANOR

PRINCIPLES THAT SUPPORT USABILITY FLEXIBILITY  What is usability flexibility? Usability flexibility refers to the different ways in which one can manipulate the system easily in order to exchange information.  What do we mean by the principles of usability flexibility? When we talk about principles we refer to the major factors that contribute to how easy is it to conform with the user needs with the system.

PRINCIPLES AFFECTING USABILITY FLEXIBILITY There are five principles that affect flexibility: 1)Dialogue Initiative 2)Multi-threading 3)Task migratability 4)Substitutivity 5)Customizability

Dialogue Initiative  What is dialogue initiative? Dialogue initiative is when the system allows the user to converse/interact with it by granting the user total access without restrictions or constraints imposed by the input dialogue i.e. while logging into a system.Examples of a dialogue initiative are secure sites, registrations etc

Multi-threading  What is Multi-threading? Multi-Threading is similar to multi- tasking in consideration with the system capability. Multi-threading allows the user to work on different sites or applications at the same time. `There are two types of Multi-threading: Concurrent Interleaved

TASK MIGRATABILITY  What is task migratability? It refers to the transfer of control for execution of tasks between system and user. It is how the system support the user and how the user support the system to execute different tasks.

SUBSTITUTIVITY  What do we mean by substitutivity? It is about the layout of the input or output that the user requires from the system. It is a way to present information using your properties through a system.

CUSTOMIZABILITY  What is customizability? It is how a user or the system changes the user interface. There are two types of modifiability of the user interface: Adaptability Adaptivity
