2 Writing Technology in the IEP  Annual goal with AT as a supplementary aid.  Susan will use a voice activated computer and printer to complete exercises that other students do with pencil and paper  A description of the type of assistive technology should include enough detail of features without specifying the brand name.

3 Writing Technology in the IEP  Annual goal with AT as a related service.  As part of his speech therapy program Mark will receive instruction in the effective use of an electronic communication device during social conversation in the regular classroom.

4 Writing Technology in the IEP  An objective with a specific skill.  Using a computer keyboard, Rachel will type 12 words per minute with no errors over 10 or more consecutive trials.

5 Writing Technology in the IEP  An objective for a student with a learning disability in written expression.  Using a word processing program with a spell checker, Tom will compose a three paragraph paper composed of 15 or more sentences with a minimum of 80% accuracy.

6 Writing Technology in the IEP  Create an annual goal or short term objective which includes an AT component.  Use a student you know who could benefit from the device.  Use something from your AT presentation and create a student who could benefit from this.

7 Writing Technology in the IEP  Are your goals and objectives specific and measurable?
