1 Objectives Students should understand how depressions form Students should be able to make full use of diagrams Students should be able to produce a sequenced explanation of depression formation and the weather that these systems bring to the UK.

2 Formation of a depression 1.Questions from reading? 2.A GCSE video! 3.Describe and explain all 3 stages of what happens in a depression. You should mention pressure gradient force, cloud and condensation processes formation, lapse rates and atmospheric pressure in your answer.

5 Demonstrate understanding 3 of you will come to the front and fully explain what happens in 3 respective stages of depression development. Describe and explain how the weather changes across a cross section of a depression using figure 9.45 of David Waugh.
