15 TSA 2010 Oral Assessments Scoring Guide Individual Presentation Score Ideas & Organisation Vocabulary & Language Patterns Pronunciation & Delivery 2  Express adequate ideas that are relevant to the topic  Communicate some ideas clearly and coherently  Use simple language patterns  Use familiar vocabulary appropriately but with errors that may impede communication  Speak clearly though hesitant with errors in pronunciation that may impede communication OR  Occasional hesitant/stilted speech that may impede communication 1  Express limited or disjointed ideas that are relevant to the topic  Use basic language patterns with possible errors  Appropriately use vocabulary drawn from a limited and very familiar range, awkward wording may make understanding unclear  Speak with frequent errors in pronunciation that impedes communication OR  Hesitant/stilted speech that impedes communication Remarks: Presentations for less than 1 minute will not be awarded more than a score of 2 for all criteria. -Students who read word for word from their own notes (requires assessor’s judgment based on evidence) cannot be awarded more than a score of 2 for all criteria.
