Word includes many desktop publishing features that you can use to enhance the appearance of documents so that they are appealing and easy to read.

Tariq Aziz, Dammam Community College 7 Saving a File for Use in Another Program If you want to save a Word document in a format that can be opened by the widest variety of programs, you can use one of the following formats: –Rich Text Format (*.rtf). Save the document in this format if you want its formatting to be preserved. –Text Only (*.txt). Save the document in this format if you want only the text of the document to be preserved.

You create Word documents by entering text and symbols at the insertion point, When you save a Word document, you can specify its name, location, and file format in the Save As dialog box. You can view a document in a variety of ways, depending on your needs as you create the document and on the purpose for which you are creating it.
