1. The Earth’s Space Environment Group S5 Lab Session 3

2. In the third lab session we set out to:- 1)Assess the effect of using the 4700µF Capacitor. 2)Plot and analyse the data from last week. 3)Find out what the space weather was like over the 48 hour period.

3. Results from lab session 2, 10 th February 16.03 4700μF

5. According to www.spaceweather.com there was an X ray flare at 17.20 on 10 th February.www.spaceweather.com This has not shown up well on the GOES Xray Flux plot.

6. In conclusion:- 1)We decided to carry on using the 4700 μF capacitor as well as the 470µF one. 2)There is possible evidence for an X ray flare in our results. 3)The experiment was set going again over the weekend.
