1. Congratulations! You are ready to launch your Decision Support System to the company’s web site. After you have finished the Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Access portions of the project, the final step is to convert files to html and load to the Tripod web site. Here are some guidelines. Preliminary File Management: First, you will save all your files to one location - this example will use the A drive. In Windows Explorer, create two new folders on A: Excel and Access. You will save the Excel html files to the Excel folder and Access html files to the Access folder. PowerPoint creates its own directory in the html Wizard. Hints for Saving as HTML in Excel: Before you select File, Save as HTML, you should highlight the range you want to save as html - for Chart Sheets, just click on the TAB to make the chart sheet the active sheet - Excel will pick up the entire chart. In Step 2, you should create an Independent document - selecting the second option can cause concern for overwriting. Complete the missing information and options in Step 3 In Step 4, save the result as an HTML file and select A:\Excel to save the file in. You will also need to name the html file (i.e. barchart.html or pivot1.html) Repeat this step for each PIVOT table and Chart. You will end up with at least 4 files (2 pivots and 2 charts).

2. Create the Video Store Front Page: Now that all of your files are converted to HTML, it is time to create the front page for the Video Store. Add a link to the video.html file from your Tripod front page. In Netscape, Choose, File, New, Blank Page. Use background images, titles, graphics, etc. as you see appropriate. Copy and Paste your Executive Summary to the web page. Save as video.html Once you have the summary and layout complete, you are ready to add links to the video store files. Access Report Links Insert a link on the video.html page to http://members.tripod.com/membername/Access/index.htm (check to see that the index is htm and not html). Note the capitalization in Access - this will be important in a few minutes. The index file in Access is the html file with the table that contains links to the reports - you will NOT need to create direct links to the Access reports. Edit the Access index file to include names of all group members, the title of the video store, etc. Also add a return to the video page (http://members.tripod.com/membername/video.html Excel Links Excel will be a little different. Excel’s html wizard does NOT create an index page. So you will have to. Keep it basic and simple - save the file as index.html in the EXCEL directory on A:. On this page, you will need to insert links to each Excel pivot table html file and Excel chart html file. Remember to use the Excel directory name in the link! Example: http://members.tripod.com/membername/Excel/barchart.html. Only on the Excel index.html file will you need to add a back to the video store web page link. PowerPoint Links PowerPoint works like Access. Just insert the link to the PowerPoint index.htm (or.html) file. Edit the index.htm (or.html) file to include your group name, the video store name, and a back to the video store web page (video.html).

3. Login to your member Tripod web site. First, some file management. Create the Access, Excel, and PowerPoint directories by selecting File- Options, New Directory. Enter Access - but use the same capitalization that you used on the video web page! Repeat for Excel and the PowerPoint Directory. Be careful with the capitalization! Load your files:  Load you main index.html to the main directory (so the link to the video.html file is loaded)  Load the video.html file to the main directory.  Open the Excel director and load the Excel files  Open the Access directory and load the Access files  Open the PowerPoint Directory and load the PowerPoint files Congratulations! Your video web page is live! Now, check to make sure that all of the links work! Turn in the web page address!
