4 Why? Throughout our ten-year study, whenever we found an effective school or an effective department within a school, without exception that school or department has been a part of a collaborative professional learning community. Milbury McLaughlin

10 Be political What’s the problem you are trying to solve? How does lesson study help? Focus on student learning, student achievement, student benefits Give people a choice Aggressively seek resources, but move forward
