2 Locations Are a way to communicate with patrons Help locate and retrieve materials 500 locations currently in database Naming conventions

3 OPAC Display Name can be changed without difficulty Change in one place for ALL records Max 60 characters Locations – Administration

4 Locations - OPAC

5 2.7 million holdings records in database Locations - Holdings

6 From holding record 3.1 million item records in database Locations - Item

7 Moving items from one location to another is more involved Each holding record and each item record must be edited To batch “Flip” we need database ID numbers for records Changing Locations

8 Item Statuses Statuses are applied to item records Some are system applied Some are staff applied Items have one or more statuses We can’t create new statuses *

9 25 possible statuses We can’t add new ones One OPAC display for each status Status displays 2 places in OPAC Results list Record view Item Statuses

12 Status patrons Status is “Charged” Display is based on Patron Group Items must be checked out to status patron
