Enhancements to the National Backbone Existing NOAA Backbone PORTS NDBC Platforms NWS WFOs MACOORA Recommendations 1)Sustained support for PORTS 2)Additional NDBC Buoys at the Shelf Break Canyons 3) WRF Forecasting with WFOs “It is imperative that the RCOOS be developed in concert with National Backbone assets if we are to achieve the goals of the Integrated Ocean Observing System.”
The Mid-Atlantic Coastal Ocean Observing Regional Association includes: Chesapeake Bay Delaware Bay New York Bight & Harbor Long Island Sound, and Massachusetts and Rhode Island Bays and Shelf
