How did it affect people? 57 people were killed An 83 year old man who lived by the mountain for 54 years died because he didn’t evacuate because he didn’t think the eruption was going to be that bad A volcanologist was stationed by coldwater Ridge and his position was hit by hot ash clouds 250 homes were destroyed
