2 Objectives Students will develop oral language that is associated with safari tour guides and safari animals Students will be able to act out the role of a safari tour guide and a tourist as demonstrated by their oral language Students will be able to explore developmentally appropriate nonfiction and fiction about safari animals in their natural habitats

3 Vocabulary Safari, binoculars, tour guide, lion, hippopotamus, rhinoceros, zebra, giraffe, leopard, elephant, Africa, tourists, wildlife, habitats, grasslands, savannas

8 Open-ended questions:
What is a safari? Why do tourists go on safaris? What is the tour guide’s role and what supplies does she/he use? What is the land like where the animals live? (more advanced use the word habitat) What types of animals would you see on a safari?
