3. Reviewing Previous Chapters
Review the ending of Chapter 6, beginning with “Janie did what she had never done before.” Think about what this action means to Janie’s character development. Share your answer.
After reading the first two paragraphs of Chapter 7, describe how the author’s use of imagery expresses Janie’s sense of her marriage. How does her behavior at the beginning of this chapter compare to her actions at the end of Chapter 6?
Create a T-Chart for Chapters 7 & 8 that focuses on important plot developments and Janie’s emotional response to those developments. Pick out 3 important plot developments for each chapter.
