Tillay’s Physics Survival Guide By Nicholas Mendoza

 Always write down the assignments for the week in the planner, they’ll help you stay prepared for one of the most demanding classes at VHS.  Get your planner signed! I can’t stress this enough, get your parent to sign it every week! This is part of your grade, it’s basically free points don’t let it go to waste!  Write down the URL’s they are always relevant to the topic you’re studying and can help if you don’t understand the lesson. Planner

 Take the initiative, take notes whenever Tillay is talking. More times than not, he’s talking about material that will be covered in the weekly quiz.  Don’t just write what’s on the board, Mr. Tillay says some important stuff too, even the puns have some relevance. Notes

 More often than not, almost all of your classwork is just note taking. Whether it be video notes, lecture notes or online notes, do them. It always has something to do with the homework or is usually the homework itself.  Don’t be afraid to ask questions, you’re a student, go learn.  Type up electronically if you can, that way you can send it to Tillay and also have it on record when he throws a meteor…er. I mean the Final at you (seriously it’s so long, I’m still doing it). Classwork

 Don’t procrastinate, do it. The quicker you’re done, the quicker you can go to sleep.  Even if it’s due in 3 days, finish it. Tillay will often still give out homework the next day.  Submit it electronically. Doing will get you extra points which means all the world for people like me *cough Due tomorrow? Do tomorrow. Cough. Homework

 Have the recorder write the lab up on Microsoft word and submit it electronically.  Include pictures, they’re Mr. Tillay’s guilty pleasure.  Think you’re just going to join a group and let them do the work? Well think again! The lab report is only %70 of your lab grade, do your personal conclusion if you’re not a slacker like me. Labs

 Go over any URL’s, notes and worksheets on the topic before a quiz or test. Mr. Tillay gives the most rigorous and longest tests out of any teacher.  Study for at least an hour and make flash cards. He will let you use them during the test, so write down all you can.  Formulas no matter how insignificant, should be noted. They will always be used somewhere along the way as either a question or a step in the equation. Studying

 Absent or just not doing your work? Tsk tsk, lucky for you, you’ll be able to make it up. After school on Tuesdays, Tillay lets student come in and finish any work that they missed out or just slacked on.  You can also ask Tillay for tutoring help if you’re not understanding a lesson.  Also while you’re at, why not come to ACE? It’s a must if you’re part of the engineering academy, pretty please? (o)_(o) Tutorial Tuesday

 ACE stands for Architecture Construction Engineering.  “Why should I Join ACE?” If you’re at all interested about being engineering or free food, then ACE might be up your alley. At ACE we gain valuable experience and knowledge in the field of engineering with our projects. Ace is also a great way to gain connections that may aid your future career in engineering. And if you join, show up! ACE

 To pass Tillay’s class follow these rules as if they were the ‘Ten Commandments:’  Listen and take notes.  Focus on the task at hand.  Don’t procrastinate.  Don’t try bribes, they don’t work.  Submit things electronically.  Most important of all, don’t be like me! Learn from my mistakes and don’t do what I did. Tl;dr
