Convolution with sample atmospheres SRF obtained from: – http://www.oso.noaa.gov/goes/goes-calibration/goes-imager-srfs.htm Both RevE and RevD Imager IR SRFs are convolved with 4 sample atmospheric spectra – The U.S. Standard Atmosphere (1976) spectra – A “cold” spectra – A “wet” spectra – A “dry” spectra Convolution in radiance (mW/m2/ster/cm-1) and then converted to brightness temperature (K) using inverse Planck Function – RevE – RevD shows how the RevE SRFs have changed
