1 Status of Electronics and Control System P J Smith University of Sheffield 20 th August 2009

2 Control Electronics in R78 is being installed for the Demonstrator system. The control electronics in ISIS will be reinstalled over the forthcoming week. We will be using the same controller that ran the target mechanism last year. (We are still designing the upgraded replacement controller.) Given the slight changes to the mass of the target system and changes to the power supplies I’m expecting to have to make some ‘tweaking’ to the code to account for this – I don’t expect this to be a problem. Additionally we intend to give ISIS the following signals. Target Position and Target Frame Position: Target Position – We need to acquire an analogue buffer to send this up to the ISIS control room. Craig McWaters has offered to make the buffer circuit on his return from A/L Target Frame - The additional wiring has been run between the Power Supply Rack and the MICE LCR. These signals are just relay contacts so some additional voltage supply will be required. Do MICE need to provide voltage or are ISIS happy to provide this?
