To achieve this mission Touchtone researched and developed the concept of pre-programmed devices that facilitate auto tone dialling ©. The following presentation provides you with a brief overview of this proprietary concept and the product development that has been performed. Touchtone’s commercialisation strategy is also outlined together with the positive market reaction to the concept which illustrates its enormous commercial potential.

6 Changing the way you market your business Changing the way you market your business Description of Concept Pre-programmed devices that facilitate auto tone dialling© are a unique and innovative concept. Its simplicity and effectiveness will revolutionise traditional marketing device markets. Each number on a telephone’s keypad is represented by a specific tone, known as a DTMF tone. Electronic componentry that emits a pre-programmed series of these tones is embedded into a device. While holding the device to the mouthpiece of a telephone, the tone series is activated by depressing a touchpad on the device’s surface. The transmission of these tones eliminates the need to physically dial the numbers on the telephone’s keypad. Hence the pre-programmed marketing device will facilitate auto tone dialing offering a unique competitive advantage over traditional marketing devices.

7 Changing the way you market your business Changing the way you market your business Concept Applications This auto tone dialling technology can be embedded in any marketing device including fridge magnets, keyrings, ATM cards, credit cards, business cards, pens, lighters, watches, badges, rulers and cufflinks. In addition to contact information such as telephone numbers, fax numbers, e-mail accounts and web sites, pre-programmed tones can also represent other information that is physically dialed or typed. Examples would include, but not limited to, account numbers, credit card numbers and client reference numbers. Multiple tone series can be pre-programmed into a device with each tone series initiated by a separate touchpad.

8 Changing the way you market your business Changing the way you market your business Concept Protection Touchtone has copyright protection over the concept of pre- programmed devices that facilitate auto tone dialling©. Touchtone has also secured trademark rights for each product to be developed under this concept, such as The Touchtone EZ Dial Fridge Magnet™ and The Touchtone Keyring™. Touchtone has also lodged a preliminary application with the Australian Industrial Property Organisation to patent this technology world wide. The Australian Provisional Application Number 2006951600 was allocated and an international-type search was performed. Touchtone is now taking the steps required to secure the patent.

10 Changing the way you market your business Changing the way you market your business Commercialisation Strategy Touchtone ’ s commercialisation strategy involves segmenting its market first by industry and then by territory. A market would be created by offering the product to the largest company with applicable use for the concept in each segment beginning in the pizza industry. Touchtone has finalised all specifications for the product, produced prototypes and has sourced manufactures of the product in China who can produce the device within the size constraints and within the costings required to make the product commercially viable. They have also developed an embedding device so as to enable them to market “ blank ” devices to printing companies who can then on-sell the devices in small quantities to their clients.

11 Changing the way you market your business Changing the way you market your business Market Response To determine the concepts commercial potential, discussions were held with Dominoes Pizza. Dominoes indicated they would be interested in utilising the device on a worldwide basis @ $1US per unit. – See the field test results on this site. As the pizza industry is only a small proportion of Touchtone ’ s addressable market, this preliminary market research indicates that an overwhelming commercial benefit will accrue to the concept.

13 Changing the way you market your business Changing the way you market your business Product Development Touchtone has successfully developed and tested the electronic componentry that will produce the tones for their auto tone dialling devices. This included compatibility testing with tone dialing telephones. Touchtone outsourced this development to the University of New England ’ s Science Engineering Workshop. Touchtone has succeeded in developing the initial product to be commercialised under the concept, the Touchtone Fridge Magnet™. This involves embedding the electronic componentry developed to date in a magnetic material without losing the tone dialing functionality as well as the development of the facilities to mass produce the product.

14 Changing the way you market your business Changing the way you market your business Development Financing To finance the development of the Touchtone Fridge Magnet ™, Touchtone initially applied for a Core Start Research and Development Grant from the Department of Industry, Science and Resources ’ Industry Research and Development Board. After three months Touchtone withdrew this application when a condition of the grant was to manufacture exclusively in Australia. Touchtone has since secured private funding to continue the research and development of the concept. These funds are currently being used to develop the initial product to be commercialised under the concept, the Touchtone Fridge Magnet™.

16 Changing the way you market your business Changing the way you market your business Conclusion Touchtone has already successfully developed the electronic componentry and I/C for pre-programmable auto tone dialing devices© and has secured private finance to fund further research and development of products to be developed under the concept. The interest already expressed for the pre-programmable auto tone dialing devices©, as gauged by preliminary market research, provides an indication of the concepts overwhelming commercial potential. Consequently, Touchtone is on the road to realising the potential of an extremely valuable asset.
