Two-stage model for graduate education: students spend their first-year on campus studying various courses necessary for their degrees, then they pursue research projects for their dissertations at various CAS research institutes. Graduate University of CAS (GUCAS) is headquartered in Beijing and has 5 regional graduate training bases. (Shanghai, Wuhan, Lanzhou, Guangzhou, Chengdu) 11,476 enrolled in 2007 （ 6436 M. + 5040 PhD. ） GUCAS has over 30,000 students.

Curriculum-oriented Pedagogically shaping the IL curriculum, including information- chain recognition, need identification, search strategy, process requirements, information ethics, etc.
