3 “GQE" for 9th, 10th & 11th Grades
Eng/LA is the English 10 ECA Math is the Algebra I ECA Will take Biology I ECA for No Child Left Behind Accountability Retest window early Dec. Regular test window early May

4 Additional information
Diploma waiver process will remain the same Remediation for Algebra I & English 10 evenings from 3:00 to 5:00 pm Monday- Algebra Tuesday- English Letters have been sent to students that need to attend

5 PSAT testing PSAT given in a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 12th for 10th and 11th grades PSAT is free for 10th grade students Score reports returned in December Take SAT/ACT during junior year

6 Core 40 diploma requirements
All Graduating Classes Additional notes English 8 credits Social Studies 6 credits Mathematics Algebra I Geometry Algebra II Core 40 math or physics course required during junior or senior year Science Biology, ICP or Chem. + 1 more Health/PE Health – 1 sem (1 credit) PE – 2 sems (2 credits) Directed Electives 5 credits In any combination from World Languages, Fine Arts, & Career/Technical World Languages are strongly recommended for admission to four year colleges and required by several Local Graduation Requirement Starting with Class of 2014 1 credit Students need to complete 1 sem of Personal Finance or 1 sem of Computer Applications Electives Total credits 40

7 Core 40 with Academic Honors diploma
All Graduating Classes Additional notes English 8 credits Must complete ONE of the following: 2 AP courses & exams– OR Dual credit courses resulting in 6 credits – OR 1 AP course & 1 Dual credit course of 3 credits – OR SAT of 1200 or above – OR ACT of 26 or above Social Studies 6 credits Mathematics Algebra I Geometry Algebra II Precalculus/Trigonometry Science Biology I Two more science courses Health/PE Health – 1 sem (1 credit) PE – 2 sems (2 credits) World Languages 6 or 8 credits 3 years of one or 2 years of two Fine Arts 2 credits Visual art, instrumental or vocal music or theatre arts Local Graduation Requirement 1 credit Starting with the Class of 2014 students need to complete 1 sem of Personal Finance or 1 sem of Computer Applications Electives 5 or 7 credits Total credits 47 GPA of 3.0 required No semester grade below C-

8 General diploma requirements
All Graduating Classes Additional notes English 8 credits The completion of Core 40 is an Indiana graduation requirement. To graduate with less than Core 40, students and parents, along with school personnel, must complete a formal opt-out process. After completing the formal opt-out process, the student will need to meet the General Diploma requirements. Social Studies 6 credits Mathematics 6 credits – must include 2 credits in Algebra I Science BIO, ICP or Chem. + 1 more Health/PE Health - 1 sem (1 credit) PE – 2 sems (2 credits) Career Academic Sequence (electives selected to take advantage of career exploration) Local Graduation Requirement 1 credit Personal Finance or Computer Applications Electives 4 credits Total credits 40

9 Weighted courses and GPA
Grades in Honors/dual credit courses receive an added point value of 0.8 Grades in AP courses receive an added point value of 1.0 Grades of A+ receive an added 0.1 Students taking 7 courses per semester receive an additional quality point added to their total point value

13 OCU Early College Initiative
Students can earn an Associates Degree in General Studies by completing the program of study Students will register for this program at the beginning of their sophomore year
