The Journey begins Young Lives Bradford seek to consult the network on the development of a consortium of children & young people’s VCS organisations in Bradford District A Network Forum was held in 2012 with 28 local providers in attendance Focus - to introduce the concept of closer collaboration and gauge the level of support for a consortium in Bradford Outcomes - broad endorsement from the network was secured to drive forward the consortium initiative Initial proposals presented to second network forum in January 2013 - Working group established with leadership and commitment to consortium working in Bradford

The Journey Follow NCVO guidance to establish model of Lead body Consortium with a Special Purpose vehicle (SPV) as basis Application to SIB Group for pre-feasibility grant accepted Selection process established to appoint consultant Neil Coulson– an independent consultant and practitioner with expertise in art of consortium development was appointed to advise the working group and oversee the initial development Business plan produced Membership and quality framework agreement produced Stakeholders consulted including Local Authority commissioners New company - Young Lives Bradford Consortium - incorporated January 2014
