Tutorage, i.e. education or training; by implication, disciplinary correction:--chastening, chastisement, instruction, nurture.

4 The Lord’s Discipline Proverbs 3: My son, do not despise the chastening of the LORD, Nor detest His correction; For whom the LORD loves He corrects, Just as a father the son in whom he delights.

5 The Lord’s Discipline Hebrews 12: “And you have forgotten the exhortation which speaks to you as to sons: "My son, do not despise the chastening of the LORD, Nor be discouraged when you are rebuked by Him; For whom the LORD loves He chastens, And scourges every son whom He receives." If you endure chastening, God deals with you as with sons; for what son is there whom a father does not chasten?

27 Hostility from Sinners
1 Peter 4: “Yet if anyone suffers as a Christian, let him not be ashamed, but let him glorify God in this matter.”

It is not a punishment from God. Matt. 10:10-12 An opportunity to learn endurance.

29 Trials of Life Test our Faith
James 1: My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing.

30 Hostility from Sinners
When faith is tried & tested & endures. Our Faith is strengthened. God can use such occasions to train us.

31 Rejoice When Facing Trials
Because of the result: Spiritual strength. Reward of Heaven.
