Unauthorized commercial reproduction of this slide is prohibited Supplemental PowerPoint Slides  Sagittal alignment is becoming recognized as an important predictor of a patient's outcome after spinal surgery.  There are no studies investigating changes in the sagittal alignment with aging, using plumb lines from C2 and C7.  We are reporting one hundred healthy adults who underwent whole spine standing radiographs according to age.

Unauthorized commercial reproduction of this slide is prohibited Supplemental PowerPoint Slides  They consisted of two groups divided by age; those in their 20s and those above 60.  The distance from the C2, as well as the C7 plumb lines to the posterior superior corner of S1 increased significantly with age, without changing the thoracic kyphotic and lumbar lordotic angles.  The distances between the plumb lines from C2 and C7 were maintained but the C2-C7 sagittal lordotic angle increased with aging.
