3 Applications Ideal for multi-tenant and departmental metering applications in commercial buildings: Office towers Condominiums Apartment buildings Shopping centers University dormitories and apartments Other multi-user environments

4 Benefits Bill tenants accurately for energy use
Encourage tenants to manage energy consumption Manage energy use to reduce operational costs and offer more competitive lease rates Allocate costs to departments or processes to expose wasteful energy practices Identify the source of peak demand charges Identify saving opportunities within your facilities Verify utility charges using accurate meters Establish “green” image and qualify for LEED ratings

5 Measurement parameters
The PowerLogic EM4800 meter provides the information that building owners need to bill tenants, manage energy use and reduce their overall costs. Real energy, delivered and received (kWh)* Reactive energy, delivered and received (KVARh)* Apparent energy (kVAh)* Real power (kW) Reactive power (kVAR) Apparent power (kVA) Voltage* and current (per phase) Power factor Pulse counts* Measurements available for data logging

6 High accuracy, multi-tenant metering
The PowerLogic EM4800 provides highly accurate energy information so that building owners can bill tenants for their actual energy use. Use the EM4800 to meter every tenant, as well as shared-use loads, within a commercial building. A single EM4800 can meter 24 single phase circuits or 8 three-phase circuits. 7 Wall Mount application
Installation options PowerLogic EM4800 meters are ideal for both retrofit and new installations. Flexible installation options allow the product to be effectively used in virtually any commercial building that requires highly accurate and cost effective energy metering The rugged enclosure allows the meter to be either wall mounted, or embedded within a power distribution panel Wall Mount application Embedded application PowerLogic EM4800

8 Physical characteristics
LCD backlit display, with optional remote display Voltage sense inputs allow a wide input range: 100 Vac to 300 Vac L-N Standard Ethernet port and onboard modem enable fast and easy integration into existing networks Connection points for 24 current transformers (CTs). Configure each EM4800 to match your needs: 24 single CT meter points 12 two CT meter points 8 three CT meter points Two digital pulse inputs to accumulate information from WAGES meters Onboard memory collects up to two years of energy use data, while the clock ensures accurate time-stamping Rugged enclosure for either wall mount or installation within a power distribution panel. Suitable for both indoor and enclosed outdoor applications. Web server allows connection through your browser

9 Flexible configuration
PowerLogic EM4800 multi-circuit meters can be configured to match the power distribution panel that you are monitoring: configuration is user-selected and can change as often as required. Option 1: Configure as 24 single-phase, one-CT meters Option 2: Configure as 12 single-phase, two-CT meters Option 3: Configure as 8 three-phase, three-CT meters Phase Meter Point A 1 B 2 C 3 4 5 Phase Meter Point A 1 B C 2 Phase Meter Point A 1 B C 2 Each meter point can be assigned to a tenant or department A 22 B 23 C 24 B 12 C A 8 B C

11 PowerLogic EM4800 series meter overview
The meters are available in three models. Measured values, communication options, features and software support are consistent for all three models. Select the model that you need for your specific project: EM Uses 1/3 V output CTs The best solution for retrofit projects Solid core and split core CTs available Extra long leads supported – up to 100 m (325 feet) Shorting blocks not required Enclosure size: 33.5 cm x 30.5 cm x 5.5 cm in x 12 in x in EM Uses 80 mA output CTs Used for new installations Solid core, 200 A primary CT available Extra long leads supported – up to 100 m (325 feet) Shorting blocks recommended Enclosure size: 33.5 cm x 30.5 cm x 5.5 cm in x 12 in x in EM Uses 5 A output CTs Used for retrofits and new installations Industry standard CTs - available in a wide range of sizes Solid core and split core CTs available Shorting blocks required Enclosure size: 33.5 cm x 44 cm x 5.5 cm in x 17 in x in EM4833 or EM4880 Lead lengths up to 100 m (325 feet) for 1/3 V and 80 mA CTs! EM4800

12 Installation example: EM4880 or EM4833
Commercial building floor plan Previously, building owners with dispersed loads would need to install energy meters throughout their facility – but the EM4800 provides a simpler solution: 80 mA and 1/3 V CTs support extra long lead lengths of up to 100 m (325 feet) – you can monitor loads throughout your facility with a single EM4800 meter! Electrical Room #1 EM4880 or EM4833 meter, installed outside of Electrical Room, allowing easy access Three-phase meter point with 80 mA or 1/3 V CTs. A total of 8 three phase meter points are shown. Electrical Room #2 The EM4800 can even monitor panels on different floors within the building Note: the panels must share a common voltage reference Conduit used to connect CT leads to EM4800 meter. All CT leads are up to 100 m (325 feet) in total length

13 Flexible communications
The EM4800 comes standard with both an Ethernet port and a modem so that you can quickly connect to the meter over your existing communication network Industry standard protocols ensure that you can easily integrate the energy data from the EM4800 into your tenant billing or energy management software Ethernet port Modbus TCP FTP HTTP (Webserver) SNTP (time sych) EM4800 Modem FTP SNTP (time sych) The EM4800 is fully supported in Schneider Electric software: ION Enterprise* and Remote Energy Monitoring (REM) *Available: September, 2011
