8 Gradient –the amount of slope or how steep the “relief” is. Lines that are close together means the gradient is high or steep. If your measuring elevations the hill will be steep. –If your measuring pressure the wind will be great.

13 How do we make a topographic Profile? Start with the map view, –Put a piece of paper along the line to create a profile. Here A-A’ is our line.

14 Label ALL isolines on the map along the line. Next, mark everywhere a line crosses that line and hits the paper. Then label each isolines value on the paper with the marks. 130 140 120 140 110 140 150 160
