2 Possessive Pronouns are little words that mean ownership. Examples: My, his, her That is my book. This is his book. That is her book.

3 Possessive Pronouns are little words that mean ownership. Examples: My, his, her That is my book. This is his book. That is her book. Note these word indicate ownership by definition… they do not employ an apostrophe!

4 Imagine the following… the top work, the bottom ones don’t! We would say … That is John’s book That is Mr. Smith’s book But we’d look incredible stupid saying… That is my’s book.
