By whose Agenda are you living? Proverbs 3:5-6 It’s time to pause and reflect... Do you realize that we have been bought with a price? 1Cor. 6:20

“Jesus in my back pocket” life style Open-in-case-of-emergency

“Every waking moment of our lives, we operate from one of two viewpoints: human or divine.” Chuck Swindoll in Daily Grind I

Proverbs 3, notice verse 1 “Do not forget” In the book of Proverbs, the propensity of ours to forget is not regarded as some mental infirmity but rather a moral flaw.

A person who REALLY recognizes his need for God would never forget God and what his word says.

Applying wisdom promises certain rewards in Proverbs 3:1-8 Longevity and peace v. 1-2 Favor with God and Man v. 3-4 Guidance and direction for living v.5-6 Good health v. 7-8

Living in God’s wisdom involves trusting God. Here are two reasons to trust in God: I. We need to trust in God because He is sovereign II. We need to trust in God because He is good and only desires good for us.

I. We need to trust in God because He is sovereign  God’s sovereignty extends over all creation. Col. 1:16-17  He controls individual lives and destinies. Jam. 4:14-15  He rules over all governments. Prov. 21:1

Meekness and majesty, manhood and deity in perfect harmony, the man who is God. Lord of infinity, dwells in humanity, kneels in humility and washes our feet. Oh what a mystery meekness and majesty. Bow down and worship for this is your God! Graham Kendrick

Scripture says, He takes no pleasure in hurting anyone Ezek. 33:11 He is never the author of sin James 1:13-14

Knowing that God has personally tailored the events of our lives, should dramatically affect how we respond to them.

Your view of God will determine your level of trust in him II. We need to trust in God because he is good and only desires good for us.

The fact that God is good does not mean that we will not experience suffering. But that he will be with us through the suffering.

Trusting God does not mean we will not have questions, doubts, & apprehensions. Trusting God means that INSPITE of our questions, doubts and fears we will continue to believe that God is good and desires good for us.

In conclusion, Trust in God because He is sovereign and because He is good and desires good for us.
