2 Formation of a Committee The RECRUITMENT TO COMPLETION COMMITTEE (RCC) formed in 2013 in response to 3SP, Student Equity, receipt of Title III grant. Student Success Committee (formerly Basic Skills and Matriculation) merged into RCC. Charge: Plan, execute, and evaluate activities to increase student success from recruitment to completion of approved educational plans in a data- informed and collaborative setting.

6 Keys to Developing a Cohesive, Data-Driven Plan Good Data Mining Timelines Established Working Back From CCCCO Deadline Bi-Monthly Reports From Work Groups Editor Pulled Together Work Group Content Accepted Gracious Offer From Another Campus to Use Their Plan as a Guide. Reviewed and Discussed in Key Campus Committees: Senate, Planning & Budget, Council of Chairs and Deans Coordinated with District

8 Budget Challenges Too Few Involved in Early Budget Discussions Restrictive Timelines to Spend Allocation Expenditures Only Allowed for Match, i.e. Transfer Functions, Career Services Perception it’s not safe to hire permanent positions

9 MIS Challenges Coordination of counseling, IT and research with respect to data input and collection Data Tracking – requires additional resources Training on MIS Elements

10 Reflections The 3SP Plan: Provided an opportunity to propose policy changes, i.e. orientation mandate, assessment re-testing Provided an opportunity to give us a 30,000 view of our student support services Shed light on where we were understaffed Shed light on challenges we face and areas needing improvement
