3  Minimum age is15 and 6 months old  Pass road signs test (10/10)  Pass road knowledge test (20/25) 80%  Pass vision screening (unrestricted 20/40)

5  Complete 45 hour parent teen driving log (15 hours must be after sunset)  Hold learner’s permit for 9 months  Complete a Behind the Wheel Driving program. 14 in- car instruction sessions (7 driving and 7 observing)  Pass the roads skills test (you take this driving test on the last day of your BTW instruction)  Attend a licensing ceremony

7  Upon successful completion of BTW, your instructor will issue you a Temporary Provisional Driver’s License which will be good for 180 days.  You’re required to carry the provisional license and your learner’s permit with you while driving.

8  You and a parent/guardian will receive a letter in the mail informing you of the date, time and place of your licensing ceremony.  You’ll receive your permanent (plastic) license at the ceremony.

9  Driver’s under the age of 18 are not allowed to drive between the hours of 12 and 4am. › Exceptions:  In case of an emergency  When traveling to and from work or a school- sponsored event  When accompanied by a parent or other adult acting in place of a parent  When responding to an emergency call as a volunteer firefighter or rescue squad member.

10  Driver’s with a learners permit and driver’s license for the first year are only allowed one passenger. This excludes family members and passengers 18 or older.  After the first year, driver’s are allowed to have up to 3 passengers. This excludes family members and passengers 18 or older.  Violations of either the curfew or passenger restrictions can result in the suspension of your driver's license.

11  No Driver under the age of 18 is allowed to use a cell phone while operating a motor vehicle.  Text messaging is illegal for all drivers.
