9 □ Purpose ▶ To seek the way of improving the rights of PWDs in Asia and Pacific and to provide the space for cooperation and information sharing through communication and alliance among PWDs in Asia and Pacific region. ▶ To decide new Asian and Pacific Decade of PWDs to encourage the ratification of the CRPD in each country and to implement fully the CRPD in Asia and Pacific region. 10 □ Expectations ▶ Through the evaluation of the 2nd Decade(2003~2012) by DPO, we can understand problems and share opinions of the New Decade(2013~2022) to implement the CRPD in Asia and Pacific region. ▶ Through cooperation with human rights NGOs and PWDs’ organizations, we can play a role to promote the implementation of the CRPD. ▶ By establishing a close cooperation network with local and foreign PWDs’ organizations, NGO activists, disability related experts, politicians and businessmen in the process of preparation, we can enhance cooperaton, solidarity and harmony among disability types and can raise awareness on PWDs in the society.
